Alvis Saracen Family
- Using a common six-wheeled chassis designed by the Fighting Vehicle Research Establishment, the Saracen armored personnel carrier and Saladin armored car aimed to solve the problem of huge numbers of army vehicles, all with incompatible parts and servicing routines.Manufactured by the Coventry firm of Alvis, the Saracen and Saladin were joined by another variation on the theme: the Salamander. Airbus A330/340 - The initial production version of the A330 was designated -300. It flies with a crew of two and can accommodate up to 440 passengers to a range of 6,329 miles at Mach 0.86. The A330 was the first Airbus design to be offered with engines from all three major manufacturers - General Electric, Pratt & Whitney and Rolls-Royce.
